User-Contributed Transcription we feel thankful enough that our dear one was preserved. I am astonished that the fright & anxiety did not make Mother quite sick. Surely "goodness & mercy have followed us all the days of our life - Hattie and baby uninjured, our dear Isaac so mercifully saved. As a family, how much cause we have for gratitude to God for the gracious manner in which he has dealt with us all along our way. Percie was quite sick two or three days last week, as probably Mallie mentioned in her letter - Croup two nights, though it did not get bad as before, and very feverish and miserable for some days - He is getting better, but tongue badly coated & not much appetite yet. He is sleeping in his crib by my side while I write, 11 A.M. His continual desire is "tell me tory" - I thought he would have given it up long before now, but it seems to grow upon him, rather.
