User-Contributed Transcription we had better get somewhere enough to last through the winter and spring, as it is always higher in the spring you know. I suppose, too, that you all of course want to save yours to get the highest price. Perhaps I told you wrong about the price - it has been a shilling until lately, and Samuel got some very good firkin butter for .15 but it is now eighteen. You can let us have just what amount you please, only let us know soon whether we can depend on a supply there, so as if not to find it elsewhere. I want one No. of the American Messenger delivered to Frances this winter. I will pay for it. She says it has done her a great deal of good being here, and attending S. School. This summer - after she goes home. she will have very little good reading probably, and very little good influence. I think it would be a good plan for the children to send the South's dayspring, wellspring and any other good reading, after they have ' done with it, over into that neighborhood. Frances says they have nothing of the kind there. She says "they seem to be all good people over your way, and all bad ones our way." She says they are all ignorant, Universalists & sabbath-breakers. She says she thinks her Grandmother is a Christian, but she has lived so long among Universalists that she, Frances, sometimes thinks she is one too, though she and her daughter (Mrs. Goren? have a great many talks about it. She says her Grandmother cannot walk to meeting & they have no way to ride and if they had, she is so fleshy it is very difficult for her to
