User-Contributed Transcription no how - am so glad I went when I did, so as to see Isaac a little.= - how did Josie like it to have him entreat Alfred away - good chance for Alfred. I am glad for him, and probably Isaac could not get another so good in ten towns. If Joseph, our dear Joseph, is getting better any, why in the wold may I not know it from himself, or somebody that knows, instead of partly hearing of it in a round about way? It is not fair not to write more. Just a fortnight from the time our peas bloomed, we had a mass of green peas, and they have grown astonishingly, could have a mass every day, and do, almost. How different they are from those Samuel bought in the market - tasteless things. Lucy's muslin dress was cut Friday forenoon and I finished it, every loop and stitch, for her to wear to meeting Sunday, besides taking all the forenoon, my big jar full of gooseberries. What shall be done with the black currants? One mill man's name is Asa. Mr. Hardy spells it acy Acy! You remember Mr. Emerson, don't you Josie? I don't feel right about it that Prof. Webster is to be executed. Gov. Briggs is too good a man to be accessory to such an act. Mr. Temple shows himself at The Hall every sabbath forenoon! We have cucumbers and do all eat them. though I wish we would'nt! They is good. Why don't Isaac write to me? You need'nt trouble about Lucy's being green and awkward - she appears well enough, only stares a little too much. We wish you to write the next mail after receiving this whether your school is teaching. If you don't, you may expect to see Lucy home before you are
