User-Contributed Transcription I have made but very few acquaintances here. Except with businessmen and those acquaintances you know do not come into Morning and Evening hours. I lodge at Father's house get my meals at a public boarding house 3/4 of a mile distant. My boarding place however is but a short distance from the office which is very convenient. Father starts next Monday the 20th for the East. he is now at Cottage Grove. The business of the office will not keep me very busy but it is necessary that I should be here most of the time as the Cemetery and Mr Poon? must be attended to on call. Last Sabbath Rev Mr Mattocks of the First Presbyterian Church forced me into the Sabbath School and Choir. he says, "we do not ask people here but just say come"
