I presume the journey & the getting out into the world would be a benefit and a pleasure to him, but whether the pecuniary benefit alone, would be a sufficient inducement, and compensation for the evils of various kinds necessarily attendant on his absence from home, I am not so clear. I suppose Isaac yearns to see some of his kindred, and would do anything in season, or out of it, to get them there with him. Charles of course knows best about it. If he only won't get the ague, or some other western fever which will trouble him after he comes back, I won't object! What does Albina think of it? If he should go, what would the family do; remain in status quo, or scatter? Let us know in season to provide in some way for Jane. E. and Maria have talked considerably about going, but I think are rather getting off the notion now. She don't want to go, and it would really be a most tedious & fatiguing journey there at this season, & equally so returning in the spring. I think if he goes, she had much
