User-Contributed Transcription herself to the missionary work, and was very decided that it was her duty to break off the engagement. Eliab wished her to consider the matter while he staid - she did, & decided, the last thing before he came away, that it was best to give it all up, but promised to write to him once more. Well, in a few days come her letter, wherein she had entirely changed her mind. It commenced, "O that I could give wings to the message which Jesus permits me to send you etc." She said her friends had thought her rash & wrong in her decision, & she now felt that it would be right for her to accept him. Eliab hardly knew what to do. I did feel for him very much. I am afraid he runs a fearful risk if he marries her, in regard to her health, and if he should not, I think they would both be very unhappy. At first he did not wish me to write to you anything about it, but when I wanted him to write & get you to advise him, he said he couldn't, that I might write what I pleased. I think he will write you soon, & perhaps you
