Eliab wished her to consider the matter while he staid - she did, & decided, the last thing before he came away, that it was best to give it all up, but promised to write to him once more. Well, in a few days come her letter, wherein she had entirely changed her mind. It commenced, "O that I could give wings to the message which Jesus permits me to send you etc." She said her friends had thought her rash & wrong in her decision, & she now felt that it would be right for her to accept him. Eliab hardly knew what to do. I did feel for him very much. I am afraid he runs a fearful risk if he marries her, in regard to her health, and if he should not, I think they would both be very unhappy.
