User-Contributed Transcription always confided in, and trusted my brothers perfectly fully. In return they have given me confidence, kindness and affection. In this, dear brother, may there be no change in any of us. Change of situation need not occasion change of feeling. The time is not decided upon, but be it sooner or later, I am probably enjoying my last home visit. Is it strange if that thought somewhat lessens the enjoyment of it? I tell Mother these are my "Halcyon days." I never expect to enjoy so much again as now and for a few years past. Not that I do not hope for and expect a pleasant home. If course I do or I should not have made the decision I have, - but with it will of course come care and anxiety. This, with much disappointment, all must expect, let their situation be what it may. Really I think I have written quite a long letter all about myself - excuse me, do. Last Wednes. after tea who should appear before us in a grand chaise, but Mrs. Weston and her daughter, Mr. William Lowney! Made a friendly call and departed. The next night, and lo! "Uncle Natty" stood before us! He was at Brownville on business and so called up to see us. Chatted very pleasantly about an hour and returned to Mr. Eastman's, where he left his wife. Lane Furber's barn, containing 25 tons of dry hay was struck by lightning week before last. Splintered it considerably but burnt it not at all. You have probably heard of Sarah Treat's death last Saturday. She suffered very much at the last. She went from Bangor, home, about a fortnight before she died. We shall expect you home next week without fail. Ever your affectionate Sister Lucy.
