User-Contributed Transcription confident that singing is a great help to the government of a school, or at least to the order and good feeling, which in a measure prevents the necessity of government. People may laugh at the thought of my being a "music teacher," but I may use my own talents. I am really attached to these children many of them, and shall feel bad to leave them, though I doubt not my sorrow at parting with them will be more than counterbalanced by my joy at getting home. I have really a very fine boarding place as far as people are concerned. Mrs. Kenney is truly one of the "excellent of the earth," quite a lady. an old school teacher native of Dover N.H., has lived in Boston considerable. Mr. K. is a tall, straight, prosperous, happy farmer, with a good wife, seven pretty children, three hundred acres of excellent land, good buildings and plenty of money, which last is a good thing. He has sowed eighty bushels of Oats this year - look splendidly. Sunday is the most trying day to me here. People visit all day without distinction of age, sex, or condition. We have meetings every Sabbath, - but more whereby I m greatly edified, - free will, Baptists & Universalists, not very enlightened as a general thing. Pretty good society I conclude, however, considering the newness of the place and called an excellent farming town. I don't cease to 'hector' Charles about 'Tiger.' Albina understands all about it.
