User-Contributed Transcription eatables sent by Wednes. Samuel was up river & down river a good deal last week - has four or five people (two corn farmers) to see next tuesday, about logs & lumber - hates to terribly, but says there is no other way. Shall we not be glad when the lumber is fairly out of the way, if it sweeps away six times all our property, as very likely it may. I won't grumble a word. I wonder how with so many vexations & cares & losses all the time, Samuel can always be the same kind, considerate, good natured man - never speaking a hasty word, nor forgetting to be kind to us all. "Icus", won't you make calculations to stop here & have the babies christened? or would the Dunbarton grandparents be grieved? 'Ts a pity you had not written one mail sooner, then tall the things could have gone up so nicely with the children. You can't think how good it seems about Mr. Rider. His
