User-Contributed Transcription Tuesday Eve Oct 22' 1850Dear Mother Dr. McRuen has been to see Lucy this afternoon and seems think very particular care must be taken of her for the present. he has ordered her to her room which she must not leave at all. now a hired girle to take care of her would aggravate instead of healing and it seems to us that either you or Almeida must to arrange at home as to come here by Stage Thursday, perhaps we are asking too much but I feel that it is of much importance that there be some one to take very special care of her. We are expecting Ann every Boat and she can be forwarded to Milo as soon as in a fit condition to go. Please to take in your knapsack, some peices of old white flannel as I can find none but red Excuse the lack of length to this epistle as I am much hurried to night S.W.F.The disease seems to be a severe Koff with great soreness of the whole person and I gather from what Dr. Mc said that he was afraid of the Lung fever. Lucy send Love to all (and Josie) if it isn't a Tayloriam
