User-Contributed Transcription indisposed. Samuel has got some medicine from Dr. Paine twice. S. means to get the Dr. himself soon I believe, but I won't let him. I don't like doctors. Mary Crosby is going to teach school. Pa is quite crazy by spells with the hypo. I want [desperately?]] you should see my rug - have half a mind to send it up by Libe. guess I'll send home your rags again, as they'll be of no particular use to me now. With them and what I had left you might make a beautiful rug. I wish you would - tis not a great job, after you get about it. borrow Mehitable's hook. I thought I should make another this spring, but shall not now, as Jane's clothes & Samuel's need my time soon as I am well enough. I made Jane a house linen sack last week, lying abed, trimmed with white braid- looks quite near & her "go to meeting" fix for this summer. I have a darling Cactus in bloom - one large flower, six inches across - been open since Thursday - begins to shut up now. We've got a little garden down on the terraces. Some posies, beans, peas, radishes, lettuce, pepper grass, tomatoes (only they would come up) Nasturtiums, cucumbers, squashes etc. Samuel has no employment, either present or prospective, but to dig in the garden & take care of me. They have a great muss at the mill & boarding house needed? them - men want him to come back - Hathorne does too, but won't pay much. I tell him 'tis a good thing that he is out of business now, but he feels rather uneasy sometimes. I think he & Isaac had better lay their heads together and set up something. I want to see Joseph or have you write more particularly.
