User-Contributed Transcription want to arrange matters so that I can go to Milo to Thanksgiving, but I fear it will not be expedient. I don't know but I must give up my visit to Milo till another year. I had a good visit from Mary Tower. She is a noble girl. How much I have said and thought about that ironing board, and not one word regarding its fate have I yet learned. I hope Almeda will take an early opportunity to get hold of Frances after she goes home and talk with her just right. I think she is serious and inquiring, but is very ignorant. She seems very much interested in the Sabbath school, says she hates to leave it. She says she never was taught any thing on religious subjects, and never had any chance to learn this summer, says she thinks Universalist parents do very wrong to bring their children up without teaching them anything about religion. Where she worked last summer they never said a word to her about attending meeting or S. School. didn't care whether she went or not, she says she is very glad she came here to live and glad she went to S. School--never was in a family where the people were pious before etc. etc. She is a good hearted girl, good feelings and intentions, very - Mother and I came to that conclusion a great many times last summer!
