User-Contributed Transcription Mond. eve Sept. 16 Got my washing all done, floors washed, bedroom and all, hasses and finepane rubbed, etc. toilet made and myself set down to rest before noon - been sewing this afternoon, and evening finished previously begun letters to Ann and Olive. Samuel is dilligently perusing the Tribune, & Jane gone to bed. Eliab handed me letters yesterday which somebody brought when the store was shut - he could not find out about purchases of cloth from those I received when at Milo. You have probably before now got my letter telling what I did buy. I understood Charles cloth for two prs of shirts. Can get more .4 if you wish. I will see Eliab & get a "great many funds" as Mr. Hardy says, and get the thing you mention to send when these go. Albina will find collar cut out, and shirt yoke pattern somewhere in the bundle. Almeda's bag also I will put in. My pickles are nice. They please me much. I put them in sharp cold vinegar. did nothing more to them, and in 4 days they were real good pickles, all made - green, hard & crispy as you please - so much better than those miserable Boston things. Musical Convention commences tomorrow continues 4 days - mean to go some if Samuel can leave. Prof. I.B. Woodbury from N.Y. is head. What a piece of work they have in N.Y. with Jenny Lind. I should love to hear her, but would not pay $125. for it I think. Richard Johnston preached yesterday P.M. How clever and sad he looks, and how exactly like all the rest of them. Ann Thurston has got home
