User-Contributed Transcription Bangor July 2, 1952 Bangor July 2 - 1852Dear Mother I very much wanted a letter from you last night but did not get it, so to console myself for the disappointment, I will commence writing one to you. We get along finely considering - have got a window in the dark chamber and a bell- (O that we had before you went away) - have had breakfast in good season every morning but one. The girls sleep in the "new room," and the "go to meetin'" chamber is all prepared for the reception of Aunt Anne. Our washing and ironing was done up in good shape by Wednes. noon. Yesterday we baked wheat bread, apple & rhubarb pies & fried cakes. I have made Jane's dress - it looks "very decent." Am now making another pair of these pants for Samuel. The "hard times" pr are too short & too small, do not look 'spectable. and I'm going to send them to Charles - he may allow what he thinks they are worth. I expect they will wear well. I am letting[left-hand side] Your girls too hard." - Old Olson with her grand son and a little young fox called here this week - wanted to see the fox. Why don't you write to Lucy.
