I have worried myself a good deal because it seemed to me that Nettie could not enjoy her visit here in the midst of so much confusion; Changing help, having no help etc. etc. I never had such a time of weariness and discouragement before - one day Samuel went after eleven different girls without being able to get one. If Ellen (who is here now) will only stay till E. and Mr. go to housekeeping, I shall feel thankful. Samuel got so desperate he said he would give a girl eight dollars a week if they asked it.
