User-Contributed Transcription more than she can bear safely or consistently. It seems as if she might reconcile herself to it, but she can't. It only grows worse and worse. I fear Charles health would suffer if he should come this fall. You see we are all of one mind in regard to it. Samuel thinks it would have been better, decidedly, if he had come home last spring. If, on account of health, you think best not to come till spring, it seems to me that Albina had better take Josie & Mary to her Father's and stay there, let Charlie come here, and let Walter and Sally, on some terms have the house, and take care of the things. After all, I don't pretend to have judgment to advise much about it. So I won't say any more; but Albina does lay it to heart greatly. We are having a fine rain, though cold and raw, today; after many weeks of exceedingly dry weather. Such a month has hardly ever been known. Elia wrote you that we have had a few cases of cholera, but there is a difference of opinion about it. The papers contradict all such statements. It will be almost strange if we do not have something of it here, though now it is not sickly, except among children. I hope Corry will not have so bad a time with his teeth as Percie has, & yet I fear he will worse, because he did not begin so young, perhaps it is well that he waits till the hot weather is over. I want to see him. I do. I am very sorry for the tension of your heart strings, but what do you think of Albine with her womanly weakness? Good bye, aff. Lucy
