How we should all be Thankful that Charles, our dear Charles, is spared. But for God's Sparing mercy, he might have been taken & this heavy sorrow have been for us. I shall try to write often. Be comforted, Albina about Charles' being away - you know I can sympathize with you a little. I will send you a pretty and good piece of poetry that I found the other day, next time I write. Do write often, and make haste, Mother, to be ready to come down and stay here. Charles will write before he leaves here. E. and M. came here to board last week. In haste and love Lucy.
