The refuse sheet must go to somebody, and I am naughty enough to send it to you. It is early - six o'clock - baby sleeps and so does Lissie. We have eaten breakfast and Isabel is washing the dishes: Samuel has "gone to Old Town" - so I have a few moments before it is light to write a little. Two good letters from you have arrived in town lately - one to Eliab & one to me. I had written to you just before receiving yours. In regard to this great hubbub and ado about Charles and Eliab going to Illinois - I don't know, I am sure - Issac wrote urgently to E. to have him persuade Charles to go. Maria said it was naughty and Eliab should have nothing to do with persuading him away from his family.
