User-Contributed Transcription Sunday Aug. 9 Warmer - Rain in afternoon and evening. Prof. Hall, of Oberlin, preached on The Church - from Eph. 5:25-27. taught Mrs. Benton's class. Young People's Meeting, led by Miss Fisher, was very good, though thinly attended. Talked the Chautauqua subject again in evening. Read "Scamp and I" to children -

Monday Aug. 10 Rain early in A.M. Washing done in good season - Baby sick today. Mr. Johnson and Ralph arrived on the 5 oclock train - Went to Lodge in evening. Bought a small trunk.

Tues. 11 Baby somewhat better - Started for Chautauqua at 10 A.M. - reached there in safety, engaged board at the Mundie Cottage, where are Mrs. Lina Lyon Sturgis, and Miss Sturgis. and room two doors off - Trunk came up promptly, supper was satisfactory. Went for a little to Mr. French's lecture & crayon talk. then wrote a letter hom. Letter from Mary just as I left Elyria. Mr. Brooks rode with me as far as Cleveland.
