User-Contributed Transcription virtue & to virtue knowledge and the rest. We had some visit with Dr. Smith thereafter in the reception room. Miss Howes & I went up to College to the 5 o'clock prayermeeting - to supper at Miss Freeman's table - there to visit with Dr. Smith in Miss Shafer's room. Our section prayermeeting tonight was very good - a real experience meeting. 10 present besides myself in Miss Tinker's room.

Mon. 11 Letter from Pater. Did not get up to breakfast. but went to dinner and supper. Wrote to Mrs. Baker, East Brookline St. Boston - to Mr. Arthur G. Morse, to Miss Kendall, Mary Beattie, Jack, Wilder and Mary - and a letter home. Heard this morning of the burning of Ladies Hall, Oberlin. Studied and laboriously learned Qual. Anal. lesson. Did not succeed in getting much extra sleep this morning. Miss Hawkes came in, to tell me about the section prayermeeting.
