Letter from Annie. Sent letters to John, Hart and M. Hoods in Ohio + Penn. and a postal to Mame Ohnsted. Lottie and I went down to see Miss Tomsend at the village school and Lottie told her the names of her mineralogical specimens. I took my shoes to Mr. Hagg to be mended. There was a concert this evening by the Faculty of the College of Music. Misses Fisher, Crawford, Hoff-Edwards, Middlekauf, Prof. Morse and Mr. Frank Morse. Kitty End and Mr. Russell were there. I saw also Mr and Mrs. Hanks from the village. Annie Bushnell was down here at dinner.
Tuesday. 6. 8° above 0° in the morning
a clear, cold, beautiful day. Very peculiar walking on the crust. classes as usual. Enjoyed them more than usual, if possible. Letter from Uncle George this morning. Went to the village after my shoes and bought some new rubbers. Wrote letter to Annie. Went to see Miss Chapin about section. Received invitation to the German Entertainment signed, "Hochachtungsvoll." The father is reported to have been seen at Needham.
Wednesday. 7. [Thaw?] Letter from Annie but none from home.
Etched glass with HF at 1:15 and 2:55 with great success. Made out examination questions on H, H2O, Cl, Br, I, F. for examination next week. ought to have made out topics and reference for Bible Class, but did not. Faculty prayer meeting in the evening. Miss Freeman has not yet returned. Miss Whiting gave some account of her visit to the Wellesley Prep. school in Phil.
Thursday. 8 Cold
Miss Freeman returned today. spoke in Boston this P.M. on some subject connected with Phys. Education of Women. Postal from Ede. Went this evening to the College to attend an illustrated lecture on Modern Jerusalem, by a young man, peculiar, but enthusiastic and entertaining. Jerusalem covers only 209 acres. 35 of which are in the temple area. Wall five times as high as the chapel. brought some five cent stamps + a blank book for Bible Topics.
