out at 5:25. Was unable to find a screen for my room. Mr. Bickwell did not appear to give his lecture on Alaska this evening - Rev. John Chandler and wife were here. I met them for a few minutes - Marion Sheldon came up to see me & Miss Manning and I walked to the station with her - The whole table came up to see my opening after supper-

Tues. 29 Did not go up to chapel, but studied here until about 10:30. Did not have a very good time in either of my classes today - Went to walk with Elizabeth Eliza after Bible class. Made Bible topics in evening- Letters from Louie and from John-

Wed. 30 Classes as usual. Home early. Went to walk. wrote letter Louie. Made 6 calles between dinner and silent time, finding 5 people out - Florence Soule was in. Prayer meeting led by Miss Gelstow. Miss Freeman not present-

Thurs. Oct. 1. Lovely weather - Class at 9.
