Wed. Still warm. Mr. Root came over in evening to talk about Annie's helping in the O.C. Library this summer. Mended - Meeting of 1st Cong. Soc. to discuss church building.
Thurs. 8 Lottie sails today. Water pipe burnt on West Ave. Fire on East Side. Prayermeeting on "Grace" - we each said a verse, in turn, only other people tried to cut in and destroy our plans. Went to ride with Uncle Eliab, Aunt Mallie & Edith - Went to see Mrs. J.W. Metcalf & daughter Edith Eastwood, who arrived yesterday.
Very warm -
Fri. 9 Packed and started for Chautauqua - became possessor of a very pretty nickel watch with chain - took train at 10:50 Central time. Met Warren Seymour on train - Alice Williams on boat - reached here about 6 - Eastern time - had supper, unpacked trunk - did not go out in evening. Wrote letter home.
