Sat. July 3. Fourth of July in Elyria - Staid at home all day - Celebration on Fairly Ground - Plenty of smell of powder about. Went in evening with Harl, Ethel, Harry & Net to view the fireworks from Mrs. Haines.
Sun. 4 Mr. Williams preached fr. Mat 4 3:12. "Ye shall be a delightsome land" +c. Went to Pater's S.S. class - Led Young People's Meeting in evening, on Our Country - Went to Union Meeting at Baptist Ch, whereat a Mr. Mc______ spoke on behalf of an Orphanage at Mr. Vernon, O. a very funny man. Sang after we reached home.
Mon. 5 4th of July again. Stores closed. People many went to Cleveland.
Tues. 6 Letter from Jack. Mended gloves +c. Annie, driven by the Mither, went to Oberlin to Mr. Rathbone's wedding. Took shower bath in evening - very warm.
