came by the Washington boat this A.M. I moved to Griggs Hall when I went to breakfast. Letter from home, as usual -
Thurs. Dec 1 Mr Mead, one of the Trustees, spoke to the school in A.M. Middlers wrote on World's Fair.
Friday 2 Mr Monroe spoke to the school, so we had no early Bible lessons. Miss Clark & I took a small walk at that time. Pastors wrote in their [[?]] period this afternoon, on Sunday Opening of World's Fair - General remorse with Middlers in evening. Miss Lowe visited me - Chocolate in Miss Forte's room after school last night. Miss Moore & I had a fine walk in P.M.
Saturday, 3 . Classes at 9 & 11:20. Bath at Va. Hall in P.M. mended clothes. Temperance Meeting in evening at Academic Hall - election of officers, speeches by Capt. Morton & Mr Wheelock. Went to Miss Andrews' after the meeting. Walk with Miss Moore 4:30 to 5:40. Supper at Dora's Cottage.
Sunday, 4 Prayermeeting. Dora & I went to the service over at the Jail. Turner, Burley, Scott, John Jones, Hancock, +c. Sunday School seemed not very successful today. Went down to Aunt Nancy (Smith's in afternoon with W..B. Taylor & John Jones. had a good time. Church at 4. Memorial Service for Miss Gilman. Mr Garvatt spoke & Mr Frissel. After church, went to Dora's where the Little England S.S. people practiced hymns for Christmas till suppertime. After supper, went with Miss Adams, Nettleton & Showers to the Dixie to see Miss Connacher about Mr Smith at the Poorhouse. We found
