User-Contributed Transcription Miss Adams also came in. The boys read some of the famous patriotic revolutionary speeches.

Sat. 25. Preparations for 3rd & last Candy Pull wh. came off in evening. Clara Cary, Rosa Dunson, Fannie McKinney, Rosa Worrell, Isabella Wells-Uzzle, Morse, Fitch, Wilson, Keffer, Satterwhite, Ramsey - Cap'ts Moton & Washington came in very late. Much fun, but the candy did not get hard. weather too warm. Miss Foote helped us clean up thereafter, late to bed.

Sun. 26. Cooler - fair - Went to Buck[?]re in A.M. could not go to the C. E. meeting. taught Collins' class, the older people. Capt. Moton opened my Sunday School.
Poorhouse in P.M. walked with Misses Clark, Moore, Pond - & Bolden and Armstrong - Did not go to church. Rehearsal for Miss. Meeting, 5-6. all the speakers. The Missionary Meeting came off this evening very successfully, all the speakers were heard mostly, I believe - & the whole school entered heartily into the reading & songs.

Mon. 27. Cool. cloudy. Went to Hampton in A.M. with Misses Moore & Adams - Library thereafter - knitting & History. Went at 5 to hear Mrs Rand tell of her southern trip, Almeda, S.C. Night School as usual. 8 Middle boys at the small meeting - also Miss Moore and Miss Adams.
