has been at Shellbanks for several days - only one class this A.M. read a little more Virgil -
Evening - Bible, 1/2 hr. Literature, Thanatopsis, 1 hr.
Friday - Classes 9 & 9:20 - Progress in learning names of B. Primes - Lit. (Poe & Holmes) and Algebra, in evening - Tired - Chocolate & crackers after Night School - Week's Currents came. 2nd batch - Bicycles - Rain -
Sat. 28 Cooler - Fair - Rain in night. Classes in A.M. Mended clothes - read - did errands, to Hampton on bicycle for first time - Moved over to Uncle Tom's to spend Sunday - Sociable in evening in gymnasium - went for 1/2 hr. or so - studied S.S. lesson with Miss Adams.
Sunday. 29. Beautiful weather - Mr. Turner arrived in A.M., but did not take S.S. class. Buckroe & Ocean Grove parties late in getting off. went into prayermeeting after Ruffin - opening Exercises & S.S. lesson. After dinner, saw Slabtown & Poorhouse parties off - then Miss Adams & I went out to Aunt Sarah Carey's & Mrs Carlin's - read & sand a little - Back at 3:30 - church at 4. Mr Turner preached on Mariah - 19 people at the S.S. teachers' class at Uncle Tom's - including Miss Adams, Miss Moore & me. At evening service, Miss Snow talked about the Indian Reservation she visited in New York State - Volunteers were called for for cabin
