Friday June 1. Clear & warm in P.M. Quiz on N.P.A.s +c at 9 & 10:55. Conference with Misses Cowan, Scudder & Bates, 12-2. Last Bible lesson at 2:20. W.C.T.U. meeting, at which I read "Jack," with difficulty. In evening went to call on Mrs. Watson, who had not arrived, then to see Mrs. Durant & communicate to her the scheme, of which she did not at all approve. Wrote to Miss Eaton. Conferred further with Katherine.
Sat. 2 Fine weather - More lamps repaired. mending. Miss Clara Barton spoke at 4 P.M. on the Red Cross work. With Miss Morgan, Miss Tuttle, & May Gilman, I took 5 o'clock train to Boston - left Fitchburg Station at 7. reached Northfield at 10:45 - & were taken to Seminary, Marquand Hall, when Miss Newell & Miss Prout met us.
Sun. 3 Took a little walk before breakfast, & met Mr. Moody - After prayers, went to East Hall, saw Emily Evans, then to Hillside House, to see Jennie Putman. Went to church at Recitation Hall. Rev. Mr. Samnuis preached on "Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out." Rev. H.L. Hastings spoke on "the joy of the Lord" _ Mr. Sankey sang. Miss Tuttle & I sat on the platform. Went to dinner with Jane after church. In P.M. to meeting of King's Daughters. Mr. Bottome
