Helen Chambers & May Patterson had a scare last night and alarmed the house between 4 and 5 A.M.
Sun. 28 - Rain, at least clouds, Went to church and Sunday School. Mr Sterus & Mr McCabe in the class. Went to Mr Sanborn's to dinner - good dinner and pleasant conversation. Singing meeting at chapel at 5. Y.P.S.C.E. as usual - did not stay to other meeting. Helen & May, nervous and frightened tonight.
Mon. 29 We slept peacefully last night - at least there was not disturbance or arousal - Corrected papers today - Wrote to Mrs. Booth, card to Anna R.L. letter to Helen Hawkes, and one to Ginn & Co in her behalf - went to College for several household errands in A.M. Fine, breezy day - Many theologians at College.
Tues. 30 Classes as usual. C.C.P. & C.C.P. here for dinner. First of the social meetings of teachers in the parlor. I went not.
Wed. 31 Mrs Fisher was coming "to ask a favor" of me, but came not. Halloween. Miss Maybell Hall came here in time for the Cake and staid a little while in the evening. Great Political Rally - all parties, at the College.
Thurs. Nov. 1 Indian Summer weather - classes as usual - Bills coming in - Miss Townsend & I went in evening to Wellesley Hills to hear John W. Candler, Mr Powers of Newton & Judge J.B.C. Drew of N.Y. never w'd go anywhere to hear the last name again - others, good.
