User-Contributed Transcription former paster of Brownfield St. M.E. Church, Boston. All the girls went up, except Sara Peckham, at home with a cold, & Miss Chambers, who goes to the Episcopal service in the afternoon - Miss Parkes, Maggie & I went to the Y.P.S.C.E. meeting. We had a "Sing" & the Chautauqua Service afterward in the parlor. Dinner - 1:30 - Supper 5:30. Crackers left on table in evening. Furnace Fire.
Monday - Beautiful weather - cool - Furnace fire - Furniture arrived. tables, bookstands, rocking chairs. Letter from Pater, also one from Helen Hawkes - Made a dishwashing scheme - rather elaborate. Went to College for Dept. Meeting in P.M. Furniture arrived today, tables, bookstands & rocking chairs - Reception in evening - opening of new parlor and electric light. Anna Stockbridge Tuttle and her reverend husband were hear - Mrs Watson, Mr. Safford, Mr. Faron and a Mrs Gilberts whom they brought with them. Had a note of regrets from Rec. Sherrod Soule.
Tuesday Sep. 25 Classes as usual. Sent note to Prof. Niles in P.M. about change of Geol. Led. fr. Sat. to Fri. Went to see Mrs Durant just before dinner. she gave me many flowers. Wrote to Helen Hawkes. Note from Mr. DePew.
