User-Contributed Transcription called again later, and we had a very pleasant talk. she asked me to come in to see her. 202 in the other building. She and Dr. Thayer used to be missionaries in Turkey, and knew Miss Mary Williams there.  At suppertime I got into the seat I wanted at table, next Miss Schenck, opposite Miss Cox. away from the young things and up among the old ladies. Sat around the open fire in annex with Miss Bassett, Mrs Joseph Co[[?]]e, Mrs. Scott, Mr Crawford +c - for nearly an hour - knitted + studied Bible in evening.

Tuesday 7 . Breakfast and prayers. Letters to Sister Moore, Aunt Anna, and home. Letters from Pater and Nette. Dr Thayer came to my room in A.M. and gave me an examination, but found nothing wrong with any of my internals. Salt rub at 9:45. Lay down an hour after it. Went to library after dinner and got 3rd volume of Mortey in wh. I have read some. Progressed in acquaintance with Miss Willard . she is a Boston schoolteacher - and I appear to like her. We are going to read some together. she has loaned me "Titus, a comrade of the Cross."

Wed. 8 Warmed - 10o above - took quite a walk after prayers. Read Mortey + knitted - wrote letter to Chas.
Salt rub at 9:45 + rest thereafter. Went to see Dr. Thayer after dinner,
