User-Contributed Transcription Bangor. Anna Apr 20.1853 -Du Quoin May - 1853 -the arena of public life and to occupy a prominent place among the present actions in the world's drama. We have been reading Joanna Baillie's poems, mostly dramatic we like them much. have you or Isaac ever read them? In a letter to Emily Coleman my friend in Westfield a while ago, I chanced to mention a sermon of Mr Tucker's? that pleased me much and express the wish to read it, and the dear kind girl borrowed the Sermon, copied it and sent it to me in her own handwriting! Was she not very kind to ? so much trouble for my gratification: her letters are always truly interesting: her friend Henry Baker whom Grace will recollect seeing at the Falls, has lately experienced religion. We have not heard from Margaret Crosby since Lucy wrote you - it is feared she will not be able to go West this Spring: it is certain she cannot, for a moment contemplate teaching at present. It is yet uncertain about my journey to Chicago I am not making much calculation upon it - we shall probably know soon. Lucy sends much love Mother too - we hope to hear from you tomorrow With much love Sister Anna.
