User-Contributed Transcription [Written across the top and right]Eliab left us two weeks since spring to a boarding house nearer his business. I believe he has written to Isaac within a day or two, he talked about going there and now wish he would: it might be beneficial to his health but I am not certain how his Maria would like it: he expects to go up to her in about a month Mary said Charly heard about her welfare at school at Ipswich and spoke very highly of her. Tell Isaac do not see a great deal of late from his pen, fear he do'nt do 'his part'. With much love. Sister AnnaWritten up the left side:Mother & Lucy send a great deal of love.Bangor March 6th /53Dear Sister NettieYour last kind letter of Feb 16 received yesterday was truly a pleasure. We often speak loving words about our sister Nettie because she writes us so promptly and particularly -- it is so pleasant to be able to see distant friends in imagination, and form some definite idea of them so as to give shape and color in some measure to their every day life and doings. I am glad you are so happy and have so many favorable things in your situation there; in respect to religious privileges, opportunities of being useful, and congenial society, which last is a blessing to be highly prized, especially in that part of the world. It seems Isaac is very busy too much so I fear, -- it seems sad to me to have the whole of life crowded with cares, responsibility of incessant business, every one needs some leisure to clear and calm the thoughts, and enoble one to ' take an observation' upon themselves. How invaluable
