User-Contributed Transcription for the last too weeks: Samuel was obliged to go as far as Bradford on bare ground last Monday: he was at home all last week, - will probably not go more than twice more. It is very pleasant to hear through him of Charles' and Almeda's families so particularly every week or two: I believe Lucy wrote you what a good visit we had from Almeda and Mr. Rider rather unfortunate for them for on the return her carpetbag was lost and has not since been found, which from the loss of the things subjects her to some inconvenience. The report from the baby, little 'Mary,' is, that she grows good-natured and handsome:Mother has been intending to write you and Isaac for some days has I believe commenced a letter; she is in uncommonly good health and spirits this winter and accomplishes quite an amount of business of one kind and another. Lucy holds on the 'even tenor of her way' with little variation: she is always in good spirits and we all have a most quiet comfortable and happy time here together.I have been out very little the past winter, enjoying myself, perhaps too selfishly, at home: occasionally
