User-Contributed Transcription Lucy has I believe, written you since she came here, informing you probably of her 'state and condition.' I think it is rather a favorable opportunity for her: Joseph is on the same street, and can accompany her to meetings, Lyceum, and, however deficient he may always have been in his attentions to the 'ladies' in general, to his sisters, he has always been attentive and kind. He presented Lucy with a pretty muff as a Christmas present._She attends singing school two evenings in a week: her help in school is just what I need for with so great variety in age and attainments, I find my task very laborious, even with no larger number of scholars than sufficient to furnish a comfortable living. My school has been as full, as I wished, almost ever since I commenced.Mrs. P. engaged to send Anna some weeks since, as soon as her present term is out, and when I called there lately, another lady was in, who has three sweet children, and told me she would send them to me soon: After she had gone, Mrs. Pomroy says to me 'you must remember that I engaged Anna first":- this was gratifying to me Almost the whole of Christmas week I was confined to the house in consequence of a violent cold: Lucy kept school one day and a half alone had vacation the remainder of the week._
