User-Contributed Transcription to going any journey, with a view to going then to boardmyself on my return. We have for sun use a pleasantchamber high with three windows, and a bedroom opening out of it - a 'suite of rooms,' you perceive - I donot expect to feel so much at home or enjoy myself sowell as where I am, as respects the family; but it is lowwalking so far - over half a mile - and I shall have moreprivacy in my room, and what I lack here in a measurecongenial companionship.It will be two weeks Wednes. since the new termcommenced: I am pleased thus far with the new Principal,the assistant too, who take the mathematicsdepartment, thus relieving me from the restiveness of teaching Arithmetic: I have fifty two young ladiesunder my charge fifteen or sixteen of them teacherwhile the two gentlemen teachers have betweenthem forty two or three young men and boys.Mr. Pilsbury the late teacher has made greatefforts to get scholars to follow him to his newplace forty miles west, offering free tuition, he hasinsured several young men to go which is onecourse of the small number of the male departmentthis course has not been honourable and casts beforehim from the people here some odium.I suppose I am called popular either by a course or consequence of my large number.
