A letter to the church from Mr. Pomroy was read to day dated at Jerusalem where he had been a fortnight: he was 16 days going from Beyroot to Jerusalem over land sleeping in tents - 3 other gentlemen with him. he described the men from one of the mountains, as the most grand and beautiful he ever saw or ever expected to.- he appears to be much gratified & interested with his tour in Palestine, says of his whole journey that he has accomplished more than he expected: he expects to reach home in the month of Aug., says it seems to him that he has been gone years, I have just returned from meeting: - very crowded, - Mr. Carpenter did nobly our quondam preacher James was invited into the pulpit, not to speak; but for the honour of sitting with the ministers and to shew respect to our 'black bruder.'I have made out the bills for those scholars who have just left, and shall soon receive some money: Shall I send some to Charles, or what shall I do with it?Mrs. Billington's bonnet will be ready to go by the stage Wednes.
