Bangor is worthy of praise for her care of her poor. they were nobly provided for last year and the system that is adopted through the efficient efforts of the city Missionary prevents imposition and secures the most judicious allotment of the bounties contributed; There was a statement in the daily paper last week of the amount and disposal of last year's funds, among the rest 91 thanksgiving dinners were provided. three hundred dollars were raised by a ladies levee for the salary of the city Missionary which more than making up the deficiency, he applied the remainder to relief and comfort of the poor. yesterday the customary contribution was taken for the same object in all the churches. Two weeks ago Isaac I listened to a session from your acquaintance Crosby Wheeler at the 'Halle' he seemed considerably embarrassed as if it was hard work but but gave us certainly a fine production his text 'Mark the perfect man, &c.' he considered 'perfect much as one (in the sense of the text) in whom 'the outward & inward fruits of religion are harmoniously developed. finely and happily illustrated by a watch, steam
