User-Contributed Transcription to Milo, of which there is small probability, I could have someat to pack my things in. The hosen which I send (Janet's are getting too small) please color most anything but black, at your convenience. I think that birch bark is a beautiful color for stockings. If you can conveniently before winter, I wish you would knit Samuel a pair or two of gloves. He will need a pr. of coarse and one of fine. I'll knit a pr if you'll send me some yarn! Ain't I good and obliging? I have made my gooseberry preserve and 'tis nice. I wish I had something more to say, but don't see as I have, guess Samuel will write some. Jane is first the best girl -don't know how long it will last? We have no Cholera here, but Dysentery (bad form) is very prevalent. Image of horse with "On horses, or asses." written across its bodyWell as for horses I don't know. I ought not to sell Cub, he is worth more for Coutts than Miss Bee, and I can get the hay for a hoss of Coutts best of than any other man. I know that Rebecca would not be of so much present value as Cub but would be improving if Coutts will buy Cub and promise to pay me $70. I will buy Bee if I can pay as soon as Charles wants the money if he wants to sell for $100, perhaps a note on three months would pay his debt, if so I could buy, but if he wants cash I can't trade - we are having to repair the plant, & timber say $400, which will keep me rather short. Capt.Jellison moved to Belfast last trip and in consequence he looses more on less time every trip. Guess I must look up another Capin.
