User-Contributed Transcription [transcription of darker blue paper text only as the text on the lighter paper appears two pages forward]I think it may be well for you to try the water cure though I have some fear of it's being too harsh. Mrs. William Bennett, [?nole page cut off] of Bath, Hyde, was helped much by it, in a spinal disease: he was unable to walk I believe or to exercise [?arnely page cut off] any his difficulty all in his back. I think if you go Mother, Lucy, or Almeda ought to go with you: if I was there, I would go. Keep up good courage my brother, it is a great affliction but there is One that can give support, and relief too in his own good time. Do not read so much, but converse more social intercourse with friends and neighbours if you will but suffer yourself to be drawn out of the inner chamber of reserve in which you have too much encased yourself will I fully believe act as a medicine for you. the
