User-Contributed Transcription to Lucy (?) Ann- Aug 24th 1851This letter from Isaac to Eliab reached me day before yesterday- I have not had time to write as I intended to send with it nor have now, so I will send it with just a word to say that I am well prospering I believe just on the point of changing lodging as I wrote in my letter by Eliab. I am so glad Isaac has received letters- I dare say they will come along to him thickly now he has begun to get them. Lucy I am greatly rejoiced that you are having Dr. Rich rather than Dr McRuen- I have much more confidence in his experience, ability, judgement, and more than all his freedom from selfish inducement to which you know there is great temptation with his circumstance and family. (This is privately said of course and merely my impression it may be unjust)If you and Mother do really think of of once in a while I want you should write often. I will endeavour to write oftener than I have done but I cannot always command the time without taking it from my rest, which by a poor light is poor policy,Enjoyed Eliab's visit very much,- wish I could have gone with him to the Falls, next summer you and Sam'l must come just [left side of letter]Every week I have about twenty awful compositions to correct
