User-Contributed Transcription I mean Miss Tash. I "happened" to have a great many things to say to Tash after she came to F--t and thereby became acquainted. She appears very much like your sister, at least in some respects. And Metcalf in sober earnest I never saw two young ladies whom I respect as I do them.
There is something so light and trifling in the female sex almost universaly that I never say one yet I could love, however much I may appear to be fond of them. The above named two I have the most affection for of any whom I [[?]] that is ladies. Of cours my own relatives excepted. You may say as much as you please about "behind the scenes" that was only a little flirtation And I will just inform you that I have not paper letter or anything else this four months.
Kilby said she was well. Perhaps Miss Foster never laid down in your lap or sat in it of her own accord, not to speak of other things rather indelicate in both. You do not kow those girls, as I do and probably no one else did that attended school last fall. Nothing worse than some others who go to school there and who are considered the "main stay" We are now on the 165 page in Algebra. Please give my respects to your sister and all others. Write soon and tell me the news I remain yours
