Not much snow fell here last week but it drifted tremendously. The Barnstable went up in the morning with a load of Iron (three cars) she had to back down of course with the cars ahead and opposite George's the train got jammed into a snow drift so hard it could not be started either way; and there it staid through the night, the next day we all went up to shovel snow. I beleive I never was so tired by a days work in my life, we got her down to Kelly's falls, and the next day she reached Manchester. Mr Chase could not induce the Lawrence folks to assist they said one of their big Engines could not pass over the Trestling the curve was to sharp. The concord Co sent an Engine to aid in cleaning the track. The affair convinced the Directors that it would not do to commence with one Engine and they authorized Mr Price to buy a new one - So much for the N. H. Cen. Road
I was at Parker's Wednesday they were all glad to hear from you. I suppose you could get me to go to Dunbarton for you if you will give me a message or any thing else which will serve as an excuse or reason for calling Will you try it?
I beleive all the Clergymen and their families in the region round about are well
There are here two sets of Lectures on Electrical Psychology both doing a good business. There experiments are amusing if not convincing
