User-Contributed Transcription He wrote Mr Crocker in regard to what George said at Newport. Mr C. denies saying any thing like what George says - If Mr P publishes I will send you a copy. I feel the want of out door exercise some already, I do not like the idea of staying here all summer. I suppose however I must be thankful for small favors -
All well at Parkers and the region round about. Miss P of D. (it wont do to be too plain) is teaching a private school in Parkers district. The Central appears to be an excellent machine - The only thing I have read for two months is the "Scarlet letter" by Hawthorne. I intend to stop work evenings soon so as to have some time to read and to write a letter occasionally
I will try to answer your next letter in a reasonable time. You pay your postage as if you were writing on business of your own I do not like that place it looks like you were in doubt. I hope to write you soon that money has been raised. I shall be right glad if in that case you will come back on to the road I think I shall profit a little by past experiences. I hope to hear from you again soon very sincerely your Friend Edward Everett
