Friend Metcalf,
Agreeably to your request, I called upon Professors Cleaveland and Smyth, and now inclose the certificates which they have prepared, which I hope will prove satisfactory.
There is nothing new in college at present, and we are all studying at a tremendous rate, as usual. It is Monday morning, and it rains "like great guns," so Little Wheeler and I shall have a fine time going to Waterville comm[[encement?]], but we're bound to go, though! Hope to see you there - I can't write much, and have'nt much to say. I shall expect to see you here at comme[[ncement?]]- There, that word looks fri[[?]]ly, don't it? But I'm in a hurry.
