Who is that Metcalf (Benj?) who used to live in Bangor, a few years since? What is probably the value of "History of Dedham", from the beginning of its settlement in Sept. 1635 to May 1827, by Erastus Worthington? Also "Historical Address" with notes" of Sam'l F. Haven Esq. Sec. Gen. Ann. of Dedham, 1836? More than thirty funerals in the Town of Northfield since July 1st. about three times the usual Annual number! I never knew before that Dysentery was so dreadful a disease; though it cut down a Noble College friend of mine a year since. I never knew what a disease it was. What do you think of the Asiatic Cholera? I see the London Physicians have begun to expect it there. Will it not be in this country by another Season? Are not the Bowel Complaints, so prevalent, this season, its natural premonitions?
