Morn, May 26 '661866My NettieI have got pretty much tired out of this Assembly business. I did some think of deserting today or last night and going over to Du Quoin to spend the Sabbath. But now guess I shall stick it out till Monday, or when ever the Assembly shall adjourn.I got no letter from you since the two, but on yesterday one from Eliab to say that he was not going to be at Portsmouth at present. I did some think if he were there of calling upon him on my way home. So I shall just run over to Du Quoin, stay a few days and calculate to get home in course of the week. Business of the Gen. Assembly drags its slow length along. Old School still quarrel briskly over the Kentucky folks.Weather warm and dry.                      Sincerely                          Isaac
