User-Contributed Transcription Du Quoin, Sept 11  1860My Dearest    The letter which I wrote partly on the Louisville & Cairo Boat, and partly at Cairo, and mailed yesterday morning at Cairo will probably reach you two or three days earlier than this.   I arrived here about eight oclock yesterday Monday morning, and found awaiting me your letter mailed on the fifth instant, the next day after I left home and enclosing one from Eliab.  I wrote Eliab since I left Elyria, and will write again today.  But I think I will get home soon enough to attend to the business he writes about.   I mean to get home next week, perhaps early -  But cannot be at all sure yet.   I am anxious to hear from you again to know how you and the children and all get along. I suppose you had very hot weather last week - They complain of it much here.  This week is almost very cold so far.   Mr Keyes wrote me various matters - sundry deeds - and a little Money - he says last week.  The deeds can wait till I get back.   I am stopping at Keyes.  They insisted upon it, although Mrs Keyes has
