User-Contributed Transcription Augusta MaineIsaac Sept. 24/58                                                        Augusta Maine Friday Sept. 24Elyria  Dear Nettie                  Well I have not got to Bangor yet. I wrote you from Springfield - Tuesday I think it wasWednesday, went up to South Hadley. I remained there from 9 to 10 A.M. till 5? P.M. Left Hattie in much better spirits than I expected. I think she liked at first better than she expected. She was much pleased with Miss Tolman the receiving Teacher, Miss Jessup was not about. Miss Chapin sick. Miss Tolman told me she had relatives named De Witt.  She should think of her on that account, and would take good care of her; seemed specially interested in her. She gave her to a Miss Reeder of Binghampton N.Y. as a Room Mate, whom she described as "a most lovely girl; one of our best scholars". One of the most desirable rooms in the house, second story, same floor as recitation rooms, front room etc. Hattie was very much pleased with Miss Reeder, could not help loving her at once she said. Miss Tolman assigns Rooms & room Mates for first four weeks, then those who desire can change.Hattie will like South Hadley I am pretty confident
