Yours of June7, did not arrive until yesterday 24th and then with it, the one of June 13th and also one from Mother. So I had quite a feast.  Oh Ettie I love you for every letter you write to me. I am glad you like "Euthanasia". Of course you get other copies of that & Bryant, if you like, to give to any one; and I would do so. There is a great pleasure in giving as well as receiving good gifts (greatest in giving where they will be prized) and I would not dent myself the pleasure. You surely ought to make some good presents to Lucy & Maria, Let them be good ones. Valuable - costing something, and at the same time good otherwise. Remember that you have money enough - if not in your purse - in Eliab's. He has money of mine, and will honor your drafts.I thank you for proposing the reading to chapters of French Testament every Sabbath. I have hunted up the French testament from the bottom of Trunk & and read this morning the 7 & 8 chapters of John which is the lesson for today I believe. We will try to keep up the practice. Do not worry about my health. It is very good. I am better & stronger than last summer; and feel the heat less. The trip east did me good. I feel better for it every way: the change & the relaxation were beneficious.
